With this very firmly in mind, newly formed Red Eye Distribution has called upon the knowledge of industry stalwarts with years of experience at the sharp end of installation.
Red Eye is the concept of Dave Kelland of Kelco, an installation company that has a long and illustrious history. Kelland and his team not only have a passion for excellence, but an eye for spotting great new products that go on to become industry standards. So it was a logical step to set up a dedicated distribution business that could give others the benefit of these years of accumulated knowledge.
"Ninety five percent of the products we distribute are from British manufacturers," explains Kelland. "We believe that in most cases British is still the best, but that doesn't mean that we don't consider products from further afield if they provide an outstanding solution. You may not recognize some of the names we stock because of our policy for looking beyond the norm, but we are certain that all our products demonstrate innovative design and superior engineering whilst still offering great value for money."
Kelland believes that true distribution companies within the entertainment technology industry are a dying breed, with many operating in direct competition with the customers they purport to serve. "Red Eye is different because we're working with a network of true trade customers," says Kelland. "And we don't rely on the manufacturers to offer technical and product support. We've got highly trained staff and offer that service ourselves. We believe this is a very important aspect of our business."
As well as distributing products from the likes of audient, EM Acoustics, Funktion-one, Isonoe, MC2 and Sennheiser, Red Eye is developing a range of specialist own brand products, including a range of industrial fragrance machines to provide either a selling medium or a mood enhancer. "We're a small team, but we care about our products and our clients with a passion," concludes Kelland. "We always operate in a transparent and honest manner and we think we're jolly nice people to work with. Our mission is to help you deliver an exceptional experience."
